Bat Pom Pom Craft Tutorial and Free Template

Image
Now yarn pom poms are super easy and quick to make with the introduction of lots of modern makers and gizmos, it means you can quickly create some easy DIY hanging bat decorations for Halloween. These Bat pom poms can be hung down a wall, from a shelf, across a door or opening or in a porch even. They make rather cute looking and cuddly yarn pets for the spook time season. Come see how to make these by reading on. These are simple to make and I've made it even easier by providing my template for the wings as a free printable so you don't need to draw some yourself. Kids can have fun making these using a child friendly alternative to a glue gun or just by getting adults to do all the sticking instead.

Red Devil Pom Poms for Halloween

Image
Pom pom crafts are a lot of fun for both adults and kids to make. I enjoy coming up with characters for these fluffy balls of yarn and I really like this little red devil pom pom character which looks kind of cute. He has horns, a forked tail and his trident. This little fella likes to hang out on our bookshelf where he sits pretty nicely but you can turn him into a hanging decoration as well if you want to attach a loop of twine at the top of his head.  You can jazz him up even more by adding on other decorations and embellishments - how about adding lots of glitter to his horns, tail or trident spear. Let's see how he's made.

How to Make a Pom Pom Wand Tutorial

Image
No longer seen as an old fashioned craft, pom poms are very much back in vogue and are perfect for so many crafts and decorations. Pom poms are now also made from fabric and tulle netting which is pretty modern and cutting edge. Wands that you want to make for kid's dressing up and for Halloween costume accessories look especially good topped off with tulle netting or satin fabric pom poms. Tulle is fun but satin fabric versions have a gorgeous silky sheen and a really raggedy shabby chic style which works brilliantly for a witch wand.  Today I'm making one in purple and black witch themed colors. You can change the styling up to make different versions for fairies, princesses, wizards and many other magical beings. It's quick, fun and easy which is just the kind of craft I like best of all!

How to Make a Princess Wand Craft Easy

Wands are super fun projects that you can easily make yourself and the bonus is that you can customize them to really coordinate with a little girl's princess costume or outfit for dress up play and Halloween. This step by step tutorial shows you how to make a yarn wrapped princess wand which I think is better than the standard ribbon wrapped ones we always tend to see and it's easier to neatly wrap the yarn around the wood too. To make a really gorgeous looking design, I used some variegated yarn which changes color from raspberry pink to candy to pale and then cream. It really gives a beautiful effect to use a yarn which changes color or why not try a solid shade that has flecks of glitter or sparkle in.
