Ways to Use These Crow Silhouettes

Updated October 2026: project ideas and printing tips added by the Just Halloween Crafts team.

Crow shapes work best when they are cut from solid black card, because the outline is what makes them recognizable. A few ideas to get you started:

  • Window crows. Cut several birds in different sizes and tape them to the inside of a window. With the lights on after dark they look like a flock perched outside.
  • Mantel or shelf birds. Glue a cutout to a wooden skewer and push the skewer into a pot, a pumpkin or a block of florist's foam so the crow stands upright.
  • A flock on the wall. Arrange flying crows in a loose diagonal line across a wall or up a staircase, fixed with removable adhesive putty.
  • Pumpkin stencils. Tape a printed crow onto a pumpkin and trace or prick around the outline, then paint or carve the shape.
  • Cards and banners. Glue small crows onto folded card for party invitations, or add them to a homemade Halloween banner.

Printing Tips

Open each image at full size before printing so the edges stay crisp. If you want to save black ink, print the birds on plain paper as templates, then trace around them onto black card. To make a bigger crow, increase the scale in your printer settings or print the image across two sheets and tape them together.
